Define Playing Strategy
This screen provides the ability to create or modify playing strategies. There are two types of playing strategies: Single and Advanced. A Single Playing Strategy has one set of index tables. An Advanced Strategy consists of many tables to provide for different indexes for different sets of rules and numbers of decks.
Configuration
To configure a Strategy, you must first hit New or Open, and then fill in the screens controlled by the tool bar buttons: (Type, Counts, Insure, Tables.)
New
You can create as many strategies as you would like. It you wish to create a new strategy, click on the New button. An Explorer like tree will be displayed with many folders. Most of the time you will be dealing with Primary Counting Strategies. Many standard strategies have been included organized into sub-folders by author. The User Strategies folder contains strategies that you have defined. You will also see folders for Counting by Inference and Multi-Parameter Side Count strategies. You can create a new strategy of any type.
You must base your new strategy on an existing one. Open one of the folders and click on an existing strategy. Then, enter the name of your new strategy. Click Init, and your new strategy will be created, initialized to look like the selected one, and you will be taken to the Rules screen to allow modification.
Open
To modify an existing strategy, click on the Open button. An Explorer-like tree will be displayed with one folder: User Strategies. (You cannot modify an included strategy.) Click on an existing strategy and then click Open. The selected strategy will be loaded and you will be taken to the Type screen. The Delete button provides the ability to remove an old strategy.
Import
You can import a strategy from CVBJ Version 2.1 or older or CVSIM by clicking on the Import buttons. Enter the CVBJ Strategy Number and the location of CVBJ and the strategy, or the CVSIM strategy and its location and it will be converted and added to the lists displayed from New and Open.
