CVShuffle Analyze Shuffle - Segment Maps

This feature is used to locate segments that are substantially maintained through a shuffle. A shuffle is run 4,000 times and the results averaged to take into account any randomness in the shuffle. Enter this function via the Analyze button on the Shuffle Map screen. Set the options and hit Analyze. In about a minute, a table will be displayed with the results.

Options

Ø Precision - The Precision options control the exactness of the shuffle. Each step has a plus or minus variability number. The higher these number the sloppier a shuffle. You can override these settings with these options as described on the Shuffle Map page.

Ø Seg Size - Set this to the desired segment size

Ø Post Plug - If off, then the pre-shuffle segments will consist of the cards from the discard tray with the un-played cards on the top. If the option is on, the pre-shuffle segments will represent the cards after the first time one pile exists. For example, if the dealer takes three grabs from the un-played cards and inserts them into the discards, pre-shuffle segments will represent the cards after all three plugs have taken place.

Results

The table contains three columns. First column is the segment number from the top of the stacks. For each row, the second column indicates which segments in the post-shuffle stack the cards from this segment end up. For example, suppose there are six 52 card segments. In the first segment, the second column has 0,50,0,0,50,0. This means that 50% of the cards in the first segment end up in the second segment and the other 50% ends up in the fifth segment.

The third column show the reverse – where segments come from. For example, suppose there are six 52 card segments. In the first segment, the third column has 0,50,0,0,50,0. This means that 50% of the cards in the first segment came from  the second segment and the other 50% came from the fifth segment.
