Hole-Card Play

Intermittent Hole-Card InformationIt is unlikely that you will always see the hole card. In some cases, you will see it only when the dealer has an ace up, sometimes only with a dealer ten or ace up. In both of these cases, you will not see the card before the insurance bet and therefore will realize no gain from insurance. Also, you will see the hole card only a percentage of these rounds. Below is a chart of advantages for seeing the hole card 100% of the situations to 0% of the situations for three cases: all upcards, ace and ten upcards, and ace upcards alone. The game is six-deck, S17, DAS. We can see that hole card information is not very valuable when the dealer is peeking under an ace.
