Down to the green line, we find UBZ II, a level II unbalanced strategy. UBZ II performs better relative to the other strategies at penetrations to the right of the centerline, where we want to play. Below this we find an olive-colored line for KISS III. KISS III performs better at lower penetrations and fades at higher penetrations. Continuing down the centerline, the black line is Hi-Lo, the most popular counting strategy, with a Super-SCORE of 12.6 at a penetration of 78. REKO is below Hi-Lo with a SS of 12.2 or 96.7% of Hi-Lo’s SS without true-counting or different indexes. REKO performs poorly at poor penetrations and better compared to the other strategies at higher penetrations, surpassing KISS III at 56 cards cut off. At the bottom, we see Hi-Opt I with an ace side-count. Due to the difficulty of side-counting, Hi-Opt I is not recommended for shoe games. It might be surprising that Hi-Lo is the most popular strategy given its relatively low Super-SCORE. But, keep in mind that the differences are less than they appear in this chart due to the expanded scale. The differences in difficulty are much greater than the differences in results. This is the reason that most players opt for the easier strategies these days.
