Stand 17 versus Hit 17 Now let us look at dealer stands on soft-17 versus hits on soft-17. Here we see that the split is about 64% H17 to 36% S17 in the U.S. This is unfortunate as H17 is markedly inferior. Moving right to the pair of Nevada bars, we see that H17 has taken over. California does not look much better. In Louisiana and Mississippi, we see a far better picture with 72% S17. Breaking up Nevada, we see that Reno/Sparks is essentially 100% H17. This is not a surprise as Northern Nevada games are generally pitch games (one or two decks) and these games commonly include H17. Las Vegas is 88% H17. This is a shame and a substantial change from earlier days. In Atlantic City, we still see heavy availability of S17. Unfortunately, Atlantic City is also heavily populated with eight-deck games.
