Number of Decks by Area of the CountryLet us divide up the data by a few areas of the country. The first six bars reflect the percentages for the entire U.S. and are the same as in the previous chart. The order of the bars is: single-deck, single-deck 6:5, double-deck, four decks, six decks, eight decks. Nevada, California, and Louisiana & Mississippi data are provided in the next three groups of bars. I have also included bars for Reno/Sparks and Las Vegas. Las Vegas in this section refers to the city, the area around The Strip and North Las Vegas, but not Henderson. First, we see that Nevada provides a substantially higher percentage of single-deck games than the U.S. as a whole. Unfortunately, half of these are 6:5 BJ. A substantial number of double-deck games also exist and only 40% of games are six-deck. In California, Louisiana and Mississippi, we see a far greater percentage of shoe games. We see a substantial difference in the makeup of games between Las Vegas and Reno/Sparks. Only about 13% of games in Reno/Sparks are six-deck. Pitch games are very common, and 6:5 Blackjack games, although they exist, are still a minority. On the other hand, in Vegas, single-deck 3:2 Blackjack games are becoming extinct. The data in this chart are included in the table on the previous page.
