imperfect shuffle in this case dilutes the purity of the zone only from 50% to 45%.
BettingThere are two basic approaches to betting: Cookbook and NRS. By Cookbook, I mean the methodology in Arnold Snyder’s The Blackjack Shuffle Tracker’s Cookbook. This is basically flat-betting through the Play Zone based on the count of the zone. The higher the count of the zone, the higher the bet. NRS (Non-Random Shuffle) is a method of more accurately estimating your advantage as you play through the Play Zone, and adjusting the betting and playing just as a card counter would. Several years back, Ted Forrester posted the following:
“The approach a player adopts is partly a matter of personal preference. Both methods are valid, although the NRS approach is more powerful. My personal opinion is that Snyder's method is fine for small tracked segments, but that the NRS approach becomes indispensable for larger segments. This is just my opinion.”
