If we use all of the rules, we can see that we are betting our maximum amount far less often at high counts than we should and at times bet the max amount with a negative expectation. Clearly, religious adherence to full cover is not practical.

Cover Betting SCOREsBut what is the cost? Here we will look at the SCOREs for the same methods of cover in the previous topic to get a feel for the overall impact of the effects of betting cover. The green bars provide results assuming that you reset the bet to one unit after a shuffle. The red bars provide results if you follow the cover rules even after a shuffle. Reviewing the cover methods:
Cover 1 – No Increase after a Loss Cover 2 – No Decrease after a Win Cover 3 – Same Bet after a Push Cover 4 – No Large Increases or Decreases
