In the above table, we always surrender (when available) when the cell color is red, and we surrender at counts equal to or above the indexes in the white cells. So we surrender a 15 against a dealer 9 with true counts of +6 or higher. Green indicates no surrender.

Here we double down on green, or if the true counts is equal to or above the indexes. We do not double on red.

Hit on green, or if the true count is below the index. Stand if the count is equal to or higher than the index.

You might have noticed that the indexes are usually near the border between the green and red areas. This is where the decisions are close. There are actually indexes for nearly all cells, but the indexes have little value when you are far from the color borders.

In a full strategy, the indexes would have many values instead of simply 0 and +6, or always +2 as in REKO. A full strategy has more power, but is more difficult and errors are more likely. Additional and more accurate indexes can be added later to improve the win rate.

For splitting, soft double down, and soft hit/stand, use the normal Basic Strategy tables.
